UCAT stands for the University Clinical Aptitude Test. It is a very famous medical entrance exam that is used by a lot of universities in countries like Australia, New Zealand and the UK for giving admission to students in medical colleges. The UCAT assesses the mental ability of students in many aspects like aptitude, professional behaviour, medical knowledge and many more. It is a two-hour long test that consists of 233 questions from five different sections. Students can take this test through multiple locations in India and the registration generally starts in March and ends by May.   1. Organisational Body

UCAT is organised by Pearson whereas MCAT is organised by the Association of American Medical Colleges. NEET which is the popular medical entrance exam in India is organised by the National Testing Agency. Thus the conducting body of UCAT is different from the rest of the medical exams.   1. Purpose

UCAT it's for people who want to get a medical or a dental degree from countries like the UK, Australia and New Zealand. MCAT on the other hand is for candidates who want to get a master's degree in medicine from countries like the US, Canada and Australia.   1. Eligibility

The eligibility criterias for UCAT are as follows

  • The student must be in their final year of high school or any year thereafter and can also appear for the exam.
  • The candidate must have studied subjects like biology, chemistry, physics and biochemistry in their high school.

The eligibility criterias for the MCAT are as follows.

  • ● The candidate must have completed their bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in disciplines like biology, chemistry, and biochemistry.

The eligibility criteria for the NEET UG exam are-

  • The candidate must be at least 17 years of age at the time of their admission.
  • The candidate must have studied physics, chemistry and biology during their 11th and 12th standard.
  • The difficulty level of the MCAT is moderate to difficult. The level of the UCAT is generally quite difficult. NEET UG is also among the most difficult medical exams in the world.   1. Time Duration

The time duration for the MCAT is 6 hours 15 minutes and the time duration for the UCAT is two hours. Candidates get a total time of three hours and 20 minutes to attempt the NEET UG. There are a total number of 200 questions in the NEET UG exam out of which candidates have to appear for at least 180. The minimum mark that the candidate can score for 720. The total number of questions in UCAT is 228 and the maximum mark that a candidate can score is 3600. The overall MCAT score ranges from 472-528. The total number of questions in the test is 230.
